Conservatives push for 400 houses on top of Business relocation to Netherhampton Rd

The new Tory cabinet at Wiltshire Council (WC) meets in the City Hall, Salisbury on 15th July at 10.30am.

For the Agenda click:  http://194.72.162.210/documents/dscgi/ds.py/View/Collection-1759

They will be discussing the Local Development Framework (LDF) that the former Salisbury District Council (SDC) had commenced consultation upon.

Not only are they to pursue the 10ha site near the Cattle Market for Business use (the relocation of Churchfields), as was consulted upon by the former SDC, but they have now made the site far bigger and are to pursue 400 houses in addition to the Business use.

For the WC Core Strategey document click on Item 8 on the Agenda and then click the web address at No17.  The line will not fit on here for some reason as it’s too long!

The new cabinet member responsible for this document is John Brady, who represents parts of Harnham that were ‘moved’ into St Martin & Cathedral division.  He lives in the Woodford Valley.

As Councillors previously, along with Cllr Cheryl Hill, Murial Tomlinson & Dr Helena McKeown, we held a series of public meetings on the LDF and are very aware of Resident’s concerns.  We share those views and will stand up for Harnham against these ludicrious proposals.

There will be another public consultation on these proposals later in the summer.  Details will follow here.

Lidl has been given planning permission for a store off Southampton Rd, opposite Staples on the J.C Dean site.

About 50 letters in support were received at the Planning department.  I had personally received many emails and letters in support too.

As part of the scheme Lidl will give £300,000 to include a shuttle Bus service, a discount Bicycle scheme and Bus & Train tickets.   All staff on Southampton Rd will be eligible to partake.
