Well another great year for the Food Festival in our Market Square yesterday. Some 70 stallholders, all selling their locally made produce.
It was a real pleasure as the Deputy Mayor, to go around with Maria Bota, from the Salisbury International Arts Festival, visiting many of the stallholders and having a chat with them.
Well, as expected my favourite was the local Ales from the Beer Tent! But the local foods, ice cream and the Curries were outstanding. I can’t wait until next year!!

At the Full Council meeting of Wiltshire Council on Tuesday, I made a request to the Leader of the Council, that the next Full Wiltshire Council meeting on 10th November, be held in Salisbury. This will tie in with their wish to hold Council meetings across the County.

This meeting will discuss the very important issue for the Harnham area, the LDF and the proposed massive development at Netherhampton. It is very important that the meeting is held in Salisbury. Not too many Residents will bother to travel 35 miles to Trowbridge and rightly so. The meeting should come to them!
I however upset the Leader with this request, and was somewhat shouted down, but gave back as good as i got!
The commitment to holding meetings around the County will be proved, if this important meeting comes to us – the area that will be affetced by the WC proposals.

I received an interesting pamphlet in my WC post today, aptly titled “Save our green spaces”. Makes an interesting read, although Salisbury is not on their list, perhaps it ought to be??

To make your representation heard about the proposals along the Netherhampton Rd, you must fill out the correct form. WC has stated that they will not take into account any representations made not using the form! This is Trowbridge Democracy! Please fill out one per person, not per house! The more comments the better. So if ten people live in your house, please submit ten forms!
