Wiltshire council (WC) want to change our refuse/dustbin collection, to once a fortnight.  They say this will improve the waste collection service, but is quite clearly a cut in service for Salisbury and south Wiltshire.

The cabinet member has said that Salisbury “Has a gold plated service that we cannot afford to keep.”  These comments were made at a recent Environment Scrutiny meeting at Trowbridge.

The Tory administration wanted to wait until after the general election, for ‘clear advice’ on this matter, as they said that the advice coming from Whitehall before the election, was confusing.  It appears that the only confusion on this issue was from WC itself.
